More than an overnight stay, an experience to sleep in middle of nature without sacrificing your comfort. Dinner under the stars paired with fresh local products, premium Douro and Port wines that will lull you away for a night to remember.
The Fly Camp was conceptualized and designed to compliment the amazing wine pairing dinners on offer, and can be setup in a private wine estate or within the Faia Brava Nature Reserve. The simplistic design takes you back to days of adventuring and discovery, surrounded by mystic views and the sounds of nature!
Local owners and hosts Mafalda and Joao prepare delicious meals, and paired with some of the regions finest wines and ports make this an extraordinary experience.
Begin the experience at sunset, and a welcome drink to quench the days experiences, enjoy a white Port, a Douro white wine, followed by a Douro Red and ending with an exceptional Tawny Port.
After dinner, rest in your own private tent, with magical views filling the skyline. Each of the carefully designed rooms has comfortable beds, white crisp linen, solar lanterns and directors chairs. The silence is amazing and the night sky breathtaking.
Wake to the days adventure, enjoy a refreshing shower - safari style before breakfast and the first cup of coffee. Breakfast follows suit from dinner and a variety of breads, cheeses and fresh fruits will fuel you for the day ahead.
The Fly camp experience includes your Hemingway style accommodation with open air shower, loo with a view, dinner and wines, and fresh local breakfast with a spectacular view.
"You have to taste a culture to understand it."

Mafalda decided to become an entrepreneur to offer visitors more than just 'window tourism' as she calls it. 'We create offerings based on authenticity and distinction!'
'An elegant table at a never-imagined place, framed by a stunning natural landscape, a great selection of Douro wine, and tasteful local food.' - designed to offer and explore the senses is the ambition of Miles Away.
There is a lot to be experienced: Paleolithic art engravings at the Côa Valley Archaeological Park, a world heritage UNESCO site and nature reserves to discover the wildlife of the region.
Guided tours to the best winemakers, led by local experts, affectionate people that can share their passion for the region and the diverse landscape are all part of whats so unique and special.
Mafalda, who is always developing new ideas and exploring new opportunities, is one the newest Rewilding Europe Capital loan beneficiaries. With support and expertise, Mafalda is now operating Fly Camp, a wildlife safari adventure where one should feel totally immersed in nature, 'a room without walls', 'protected by a mosquito net' she says.
The idea of the Hemmingway style Fly Camp is to provide a unique outdoor experience in the region, combining nature, beautiful landscapes and good-living. Visitors will sleep in a two-person 'room', with a maximum of eight people per group.
